Holistic Wellness Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. Similar to "Swedish", it combines oils or lotion with an array of techniques such as rolling, gliding, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve circulation and soft tissue tone. This can be a good choice for those that are new to massage. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater joint flexibility.
In addition to the standard Holistic Wellness Massage, I offer several specialty services:
Goal Oriented Massage is a therapeutic approach to managing client discomfort, soft tissue or joint pain, headaches, gait or mobility concerns, autoimmune diseases or other chronic conditions. It uses soft tissue and health assessment, along with clinical reasoning skills to develop a safe and effective treatment plan for the client. This form of massage usually consists of combining Neuromuscular Therapy, trigger point and Myofascial Release along with standard relaxing massage techniques. These techniques are often incorporated into a holistic wellness massage session.

Lymphatic Therapies
The lymphatic system is very important to maintaining health and wellness. It has several important functions from draining excess interstitial fluid, transporting lipids and proteins, maintaining blood volume balance, removing fats from the small intestines, and carrying out immunological responses. This system is severely impacted during cancer therapies, surgeries, auto-immune conditions, and body contouring procedures (Abdominoplasty, Rhytidectomy, Breast Reconstruction, Mammoplasty, Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), Liposuction). Lymphatic therapies aim to gently and rhythmically move the lymph impacted by these situations and help manage complications that may develop as a result of them. Lymphatic therapies stimulate the natural peristaltic contractions of the muscular layers located along the lymphatic vessels, thereby increasing the amount of lymph that can be transported and processed by the body. It can relieve pressure in swollen areas (edema or lymphedema) and enhance the functioning of the immune system. It can be used as both a preventative and remedial technique to strengthened resistance to illness.
Oncology (Cancer) Sessions. Persons that have experienced cancer or are currently living with it present unique challenges. Oncology Massage is a special branch of soft tissue therapy that is specifically designed to help clients manage the challenges and complications that cancer and its treatments present. Sessions are client-centered and developed within the guidelines of the client's medical team to provide physical and emotional support.
LOMI LOMI
Aloha! The word conveys images of hello, goodbye, affection, love and peace. But to the native Hawaiians, the word Aloha embodies a deeper meaning, a way of life on how to interact rightfully with the natural world. This way of life, often called the Aloha Spirit has been pass down from generation to generation.
In the Spirit of Aloha, everything is a part of the universe and also part of the person. It’s being respectful and protective of nature, live in the present, be honest, humble, patient, and kind to all living things and to all people. In the divine spiritual sense, Aloha may be interpreted as being in unity and harmony with your real self and God. From old Hawaiian ancestral texts, Aloha meant “God in us”.
To help maintain this harmony way of life, Hawaiian's developed the dance-like movements and techniques of the ancient bodywork modality of lomilomi. A Lomi Lomi massage session is unique in that is combines prayer, clear intention, and specific physical movements that are performed in a soothing gentle rhythmic flowing dance, just like rolling ocean waves, to improve circulation, relieve muscle spasms, increase nutrients brought to the muscles, and stimulate the lymphatic system to release waste products on the clients that receive it. This bodywork and the philosophy behind it convey the "Aloha Spirit" and beauty with which the Hawaiian culture honors and celebrates. We invite you to come learn and experience a clearly unique form of bodywork where a mystical meeting occurs that produces an incredible sense of well-being of body, mind and spirit.
Prenatal and Postpartum Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for women that are pregnant or have recently given birth. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expectant mother, pregnancy massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
The intention of postpartum massage is to realign and recondition muscle tone in the abdominal muscles with the result of decreased muscular tension, elimination of adhesions, and removal of metabolic toxins that have accumulated during the pregnancy. Clients must have completely healed with no vaginal bleeding and healed incisions from their delivery prior to this type of treatment.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on approach used to release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. It was developed by Osteopathic Physician John E Upledger after years of clinical testing and research based on the work of Dr William Sutherland. CST facilitates the body's natural healing processes and has been shown to be effective for a wide range of medical problems and dysfunctions. Craniosacral sessions may be performed fully clothed.
